Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Aloud (“we”, “us”), published by TechParrot Innovations LLC, is an AI English speaking coach. We built Aloud to need as little of your data as possible. Aloud has no account and no sign-up, and we do not collect your name, email, contacts, or location, and we do not use advertising or third-party trackers.

Anonymous device identifier

To track your free and purchased practice credits, the app generates a random identifier stored in your device’s Keychain. It is not linked to your Apple ID or any personal identity.

Practice content sent to our AI provider

What is collected: when you ask for feedback, start a role-play conversation, or generate a custom scene, the app sends your practice content — the English you speak or type, your conversation messages, the description you enter for a custom scene, the practice scene/task you are in, and your learning preferences (native language, self-assessed level, learning goal).

How it is collected: speech is first converted to text on your device (see “Speech” below); only that text — never the audio — is then transmitted over HTTPS to our backend together with the items above, and only at the moment you request AI feedback, send a conversation message, or generate a scene. The app asks for your explicit permission on first launch, before any practice content is sent.

All uses: this content is used solely to generate your coaching feedback, conversation replies, recaps, and custom scenes. It is shared with one third party for that purpose: Anthropic (Claude), our AI model provider. We do not use it for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to build user profiles.

Third-party protection: Anthropic processes this content as a service provider under its commercial terms, which prohibit using API inputs and outputs to train its models and provide protections for your data equal to those described in this policy.

Speech

Speech-to-text uses Apple’s Speech framework. The app requires on-device recognition whenever the device supports it (all devices able to run this app support it for English), so your voice audio stays on your device and only the resulting text is processed. Apple’s handling of speech recognition is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

What we store

Sentences you save for review are stored locally on your device, not on our servers.

Purchases

Top-up packs are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We receive a signed transaction so we can add credits; we never receive your payment card or billing details.

Service providers

Data retention

Your device record (identifier and balance) is kept while you use the app. You can email us to request its deletion; deleting the app also stops any further data being sent.

Children

Aloud is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
